Mini callas belong to the arum family, where the true flowers, usually yellow, occur on the rod-like structure called the spadix in the center of the apparent flower. The colorful flower-like portion is a modified leaf called the spathe. Lance- or arrowhead-shaped leaves are green and sometimes mottled with white.
